[Meme] So many things buzzing in my head

And I don't have the concentration required to write about any of them. I should write about my summer vacation--hello, cliche!--or about the knitting projects I'm working on, or about work, or about my Jersey adventure this weekend, or about the email that I just got from a friend that I haven't heard from in 20 years.

But instead, I will leave you with a meme and a question:

What is it about left turns in Jersey?

Meme from oneword.com.

Basically, they give you a word and you write for 60 seconds. Gotta admit to cheating a little--I thought that they were timing me, so I wrote for more than 60 seconds.

Today's word is: Second.
Well, second is not the first, is it? It's not the best, or the fastest or the smartest. It's the salutatorian. It's the silver. It's the place. The Japanese name, Ichiro, means first son. I wonder what they call their second sons? More importantly, is there a name for first daughter? If there is, I would bet that there's no name for second daughter. Important--John Kerry shouldn't come in second this fall. Need him to be in the valedictory gold-medal seat. As a side note, this is the longest 60 seconds of my life.

[Baseball] Ding-Dong

...the witch is dead.

Or, in this case, the manager.

The Mariners announced today that they have fired Bob Melvin. This is almost as good as the year that the Yankees didn't win the World Series!

It's worth noting that I predicted this as far back as April!

Just call me Jeanne. Jeanne Dixon. :)

Now, if they will hire pitching coach Bryan Price to manage next year, I will be all atwitter.

[General] Tap-tap...Is this thing on?

I doubt that anyone besides me noticed, but this website was offline for several days, the victim of a distributed denial of service attack.

My husband has explained several times how these DDSA's (as I like to call them) work, and I can't for the life of me figure out why anyone would be doing such a thing. 'Specially not to little old me.

Best my hosting service can figure, it was a typo, a mis-typed IP. We changed the IP today, so if the attacks--over 100,000 hits from ~30,000 IPs at this point--stop, all is well. If they keep coming, then it will be considered a personal attack.

Yikes.
